Dear Friends,

I write this letter to inform all our friends, sponsors and donor ogranizations about the change of Presidentship at the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV).

Since I have completed 10 years tenure in two consecutive terms of 5 years each, in keeping with the regulations of the organization, I have handed over the post of President to Mr. Thupten Dorjee, who was our General Secretary. Voted in by 23 out of 26 members of the TCV Management. Development Council for the nomination, the TCV Governing Body, in its meeting held on 13th April 2016, evidently had an easy task of unanimously appointing him as the new President of TCV!

Frankly, Mr. Thupten Dorjee needs no introduction, given his long standing service in good repute. Hard working and committed, he has the rate distinction of loyal and dedicated service of over 43 years in the organization in various leadership positions, including over 20 years as the General Secretary at the Head Office. Thus, his service record speaks for itself! Above all, he is a man of high integrity and enjoys overwhelming support from co-workers and management colleagues alike. Therefore, it is a matter of great pride and happiness for me to handover the reigns of the administration into the safe hands of Mr. Thupten Dorjee. I have been very fortunate to have had the best of guidance and support from all quarters for which I am extremely grateful! It is my firm belief and appeal to all of you to extend the same support and cooperation to him like I was privileged to enjoy from you all.

Initiated and blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, nurtured by late Mrs. T.D. Taklha, TCV saw tremendous growth and expansion under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Jetsun Pema to give shape to what it is today—the single largest educational set-up in exile. Therefore, personally, I feel privileged and honoured to be associated with TCV and cherish many happy memories. At the same time, I express profound gratitude to all our friends and donors around the world, as well as the dedication and hard work of our teachers and co-workers, past and present, for enabling TCV to educate thousands of needy children in our community. Without this kind understanding, wholehearted support and generosity—both within and outside, the same success would not have been possible. May I make this renewed appeal to each and every one for your continued generosity and support for TCV so that the children in need can always be ensured of a confident and meaningful future?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND TASHI DELEK!
My deepest gratitude and humble prayers for your well being!
Sincerely,
(Tsewang Yeshi)
