20 April 2006: Ama Jetsun Pema Lak was Honoured the World's Children Prize for the Rights of the Child (WCPRC), the world's biggest annual programme for the children and young people geared towards empowering them to understand, respect and demand for the rights of the child around the world. This programme enables children to learn about human rights, democracy and global friendship and understanding. One of the main highlights of this programme is the global vote where children are given the right and the responsibility to cast votes to choose their candidates who they deem made the most outstanding contribution.

 

Honorary Citizenship Award-Italy to Ama Jetsun Pema La-2008

His Holiness the Dalai Lama's younger sister and Chairman of the Tibetan Children's Village along with Kalon Tempa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in India were conferred Honorary Citizenship Award at the Thiene (Italy), on 27 January 2008 by Mrs. Maria Rita Busetti, the Mayor of Thiene Municipality,

 

 Bharat Jyoti Award 2008 to Ama Jetsun Pema La

Mrs. Pema was one of the recipients of the award among several other prominent personalities at a function held in Delhi on 28th March 2008. Due to her pre-engagements Mrs. Pema was unable to attend the function but the Administrator, Tibetan Youth Hostel, Delhi, received the Award on her behalf. This is a great recognition to Mrs. Pema's selfless sacrifices and dedication for Tibetan children in
